How to Get Rid of a Sun Tan at Home

In today’s video we are going to teach some home remedies for people who, for one reason or another, don’t want their skin to look tanned.

The intense heat of the sun affects our skin in many ways. When we expose ourselves to the sun’s rays, our skin looks dull and tanned.

Although the sun is a great source of vitamin D, light exposure to UV rays speeds up the synthesis of vitamin D and melanin in the body, but too much time in the sun can lead to various temporary and permanent skin problems such as sunburn and even skin cancer.

Although sunscreens protect your skin to some degree, they don’t act as a complete barrier against the sun, leading to tanning of the skin over time.

Whether your skin is tanned from a recent trip or just from your weekly or daily routine, you can use these amazing home remedies to get rid of the tan and get glowing skin again.

Tomatoes are a great ingredient when it comes to beauty and skin care. It’s a source of vitamin C and antioxidants that promote collagen production in the body. It prevents sunburn and protects from pollution. It contains lycopene, which acts like a natural sunscreen.

Mash a tomato, separate out the pulp and apply the juice to the affected areas or the entire face. Let it dry for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with water. Repeat this method twice a week. It won’t only remove the tan, but also make your skin brighter and more radiant.

Aloe vera is one of the most commonly used ingredients as it has immense benefits for skin and beauty. It helps to lighten the skin and protect it from sun damage. It’s a medicinal plant with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that soothes the skin and is effective against tanning.

You can apply aloe vera gel before you go to bed. You can buy aloe vera gel or extract the gel from a freshly cut aloe vera leaf. Apply a thick layer of the gel to your skin at night and wash it off in the morning. Repeat this every day for optimal results.

Cucumber extract is another natural ingredient that helps eliminate tan, as it’s very useful for sunburned skin. It also has a cooling effect!

Grate a cucumber and squeeze it to get the juice out. Use a cotton ball and apply the juice all over your skin. Let it dry and wash it off. You can also add some lemon juice to enhance the effect.

Some tips to avoid unwanted tan:

– Make sure to apply sunscreen on your body before you go out in the sun.
– Cover your face with a scarf, hat or cap to protect it from the scorching sun.
– Wear sunglasses and gloves if necessary.
– It’s advisable to cleanse and moisturize your skin before going to bed.
