Following through on a campaign promise, President Biden announced Wednesday that he would be forgiving $10,000 of federal student loan debt for borrowers earning less than $125,000 annually. Jared Bernstein, a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, joins the Rundown to discuss the impact debt forgiveness may have on inflation in this country, concerns over fairness to taxpayers, and questions about the rising costs of higher education in America.
On August 26th, 2021, a suicide bomber attacked the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, killing nearly 200 people including 13 US servicemembers.
