Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter, has rejected suggestions that Russia sees itself as “at war” with the UK.
Christopher Steele, the former spy who wrote the infamous Trump dossier, said in an interview with Sky News last month that Moscow was in a constant state of conflict with London.
But Sir Nick said he did not see a “hot war” breaking out between Britain and Russia, and instead said Russian president Vladimir Putin wanted to achieve his aims through “nuanced ways”.
