Former Chief Scientific Adviser and member of SAGE Sir Mark Walport says there’s ‘good cause to be concerned’ about the Omicron variant.
He told Sky’s Kay Burley it ‘makes sense to try and hold it back’, although it’ll be ‘impossible to stop it spreading around the world if it is much more infectious than the Delta variant’.
