In the midst of joint military drills between Russia and China, a US Navy guided-missile destroyer strayed into off-limits waters near the Sea of Japan. The Russian Navy says it confronted and expelled the US destroyer in a tense exchange culminating in a game of “chicken” that brought Russian and US firepower just 66 yards away from one another before the US vessel retreat at the last moment. The US maneuvers were in “crude violation of international guidelines,” according to Russian officials, whereas their US counterparts insist they were entirely “safe and professional.” RT America’s Alex Mihailovich has the details. Conservative UK MP Sir David Amess was stabbed in an unexpected knife attack while meeting with constituents in Essex. He died thereafter of wounds sustained in the attack.
