French President Emmanuel Macron says that France and Germany are committed to de-escalation in Ukraine and reapprochement with Russia despite the bellicose tone of the US and UK over fears of a looming Russian invasion, RT America’s Alex Mihailovich reports. (01:01)
New polling in Russia shows Russians believe the US and NATO are to blame for tensions and that war is unlikely. We asked everyday Americans in New York, Los Angeles and Miami their opinion. Many were of the view that the US should “mind our business” and avoid military confrontation over Ukraine.(03:48) Then RT senior writer Nebojsa Malic shares his analysis. He points out that while happy to receive US weapons, Ukraine is beginning to fear the prospect of inviting even more turmoil upon their country. Russian fuel giant Gazprom recorded a new daily record with 38 billion in gas supplies delivered to China. David Tawil of Prochain Capital shares his insights. He points out that the rapid turn to green energy in the West will disproportionately empower countries like Russia and China to “tighten the noose” around the US and other countries committed to a reduced carbon footprint. The recent high-risk experimental procedure that saw a genetically modified pig’s heart successfully transplanted into a human being is again in the news after revelations about why the particular patient was chosen for the procedure. There are ethical concerns over the subjective nature of choosing organ recipients due to questions of poverty, race and disability sometimes weighing heavily on medical compliance.
