Droughts in Kenya force people to dig dangerous wells to gain access to water under dried river beds.
River Nakira is a seasonal river that fills in the rain season and drys out during hot spells. Climate change has been making the hot spells in Northern Africa more frequent, causing vital livestock and crops to succumb to disease and death.
Sky’s Ashish Joshi went to Kenya to see the river local residents can’t remember full or flowing.
