On the heels of President Biden issuing a number of sanctions against the breakaway republics in Donbass, Russia and the country’s entire Duma representatives. Today, the UK Parliament is pushing Prime Minister Boris Johnson to follow suit. At present, the UK has issued a limited number of sanctions -but is vowing to send more lethal arms to Ukraine which they call defensive aid. This – as a number of other US allies weigh on how to respond to Vladimir Putin’s recognition of the independence of the Donbass Region. RT’s Roman Kosarev is on the ground – in Donbass – with the latest (1:24). Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council has declared a nationwide emergency. It also made a point of excluding Donetsk and Lugansk. The decision still needs a nod from the country’s parliament – before going into effect. Meanwhile, the tension in Donbass remains high. According to the local authorities – three civilians were killed by Ukraine’s forces in the last 24 hours. Over in Lugansk, the militia reports, two civilians were killed – when a car was hit by an anti-tank missile. RT’s Murad Gazdiev reports.
