Health Secretary Sajid Javid is making a statement to MPs in the House of Commons on COVID-19 after the prime minister confirmed that at least one patient in England has died with the Omicron variant.
On Sunday, Boris Johnson announced everyone aged 18 and over in England will have the chance to get their booster vaccine before the end of the year to combat the threat of rising Omicron variant cases, however the PM has refused to rule out a Christmas lockdown if the booster programme doesn’t stop the surge in cases.
