Sajid Javid has told the House of Commons that health workers carry a ‘unique responsibility’ because of their close contact with vulnerable patients.
‘Whether it’s in our care homes or our hospitals… the first duty of those working in health and social care is to avoid preventable harm to the people that they care for,’ he said.
Mr Javid said two consultations had been run, the first considering whether social care workers should be forced to have vaccinations.
