Former Facebook employee Frances Haugen has accused the social media giant of ‘amplifying and enabling’ genocide in Myanmar.
In an exclusive interview with Sky News, she said the company’s engagement-based ranking system is “dangerous” as “people are drawn to extreme content”.
In response, Facebook said claims it has not invested in safety and security in Myanmar are “wrong”, adding that its approach in Myanmar is “fundamentally different” from how it was in 2017.
